This month was truly full of winter fun! We played a game to better understand hypo-thermia. The kids had to take turns digging through a 5 gallon bucket of snow to find pennies at the bottom. This really demonstrates how quickly your body begins to freeze up in cold temperatures. We also tried out broomball, we went sledding, we made Christmas cards by recycling old cards into new ones and we explored Carley State Park in the winter. We also had a visitor from the Girl Scouts come and do an activity about snowflakes. The kids, boys and girls, made a snowflake with pipecleaners and beads to hang on their Christmas trees.

What a fun month! Activities this month included owling at the local cemetery in Plainview and in the school forest in St. Charles. We also had a fossil fieldtrip, the St. Charles club got their chance to help with flood cleanup at Whitewater State Park and made nature puzzles.
